About Organisation:

The Bank of Uganda (BoU) is the Central Bank of the Republic of Uganda. It was opened on the 15th August 1966. It is 100% owned by the Government of Uganda but it is not a government Department.  Bank of Uganda conducts all its activities in close association with the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development (MoFPED). Bank of Uganda is responsible for monetary policy and maintaining price stability.

Our internship program is designed to provide hands-on experience, mentorship and exposure to the dynamic world of Central Banking. You will be nurtured to become the next generation of financial and economic leaders.

Job Summary: The Bank of Uganda is pleased to announce that applications for the 2026 Internship Program will open on 27 April 2026. The program will comprise three (3) intakes, each lasting one (1) month, and will be conducted in June, July, and August 2026.

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

The selection shall be based on academic merit (minimum CGPA 3.6), continuing student status, relevance of the course to BOU operations, first come first serve basis, among others.

Applying Instructions

Interested applicants are required to submit their applications online via the Bank of Uganda website. Each application should be accompanied by the following documents:

  • A cover letter.
  • A recent certified academic transcript/testimonial (indicating full results for the first and second year).
  • An introductory letter from the applicant’s institution of study.
  • Selections for the program will be based on:
  • Academic merit (minimum CGPA of 3.6).
  • Proof of continuing student status.
  • Relevance of the applicant’s course to Bank of Uganda operations.
  • First-come, first-serve basis, among other considerations.
