IT Support Technician
Position Summary
Ellinogermaniki Agogi is looking for an IT Support Technician to provide technical assistance to users and support the daily operation of the organization's IT systems. The role includes troubleshooting hardware and software issues, maintaining computers and network equipment, assisting with servers and telephony systems, and performing basic network cabling tasks.
Key Responsibilities
User Support
- Provide technical support to staff for computer, software, printer, and connectivity issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain desktop and laptop computers.
- Assist users with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft 365 applications.
- Set up user accounts, passwords, and access permissions.
- Escalate complex issues to senior IT staff when necessary.
Systems Support
- Assist with the maintenance of Windows servers and related services.
- Perform software installations, updates, and basic system maintenance.
- Monitor backup jobs and report any issues.
- Support antivirus and endpoint security solutions.
Network Support
- Troubleshoot basic network connectivity issues.
- Assist with the installation and maintenance of switches, wireless access points, and network equipment.
- Support wired and wireless network users.
- Help maintain IT asset and network documentation.
Telephony Support
- Assist with the setup and maintenance of IP phones and telephony systems.
- Troubleshoot basic voice and connectivity issues.
- Liaise with service providers when required.
Cabling and Infrastructure
- Install and terminate basic network cabling.
- Test and label network outlets and patch cables.
- Maintain orderly cabling in offices, classrooms, and communications rooms.
- Assist with equipment installations and relocations.
General Duties
- Maintain accurate records of support requests and completed work.
- Follow IT policies, procedures, and security guidelines.
- Participate in IT projects and equipment deployments.
- Provide friendly and professional customer service to users.
Requirements
- 2–4 years of experience in an IT support role.
- Good knowledge of Windows desktop operating systems.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications and services.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, switching).
- Experience troubleshooting PCs, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
- Basic knowledge of server environments and backup systems.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with Active Directory.
- Familiarity with VoIP telephony systems.
- Basic knowledge of virtualization platforms.
- IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or equivalent are an advantage.
