Simlaw Seeds Company Uganda Limited is a subsidiary of the Kenya Seed Group of Companies. Established in Kenya in 2002 as a limited liability company, Simlaw Seeds’ core business is the sale and marketing of high-quality horticultural seeds across Kenya and the wider Eastern Africa region.

 

In Uganda, we import, produce, market, and distribute genuine agricultural inputs, including seeds, agricultural chemicals, and farm tools. Our products serve both commercial farmers and subsistence or domestic users, ensuring access to reliable, quality inputs that support sustainable agricultural growth.

 

Job Summary: The Stock Clerk will support Simlaw Seeds company’s store operations by ensuring accurate receipt, dispatch, and reconciliation of seed stock. The role ensures proper documentation, safe handling, and timely reporting of stock movements, thereby contributing to efficiency, transparency, and compliance in line with Simlaw’s mission to deliver top-quality agricultural inputs.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receiving and confirming the quantity of seed from the main store and other stores as per delivery notes.
  • Ensuring all seed received or dispatched is accompanied by a delivery note or goods received note.
  • Updating stock cards accurately on a daily basis.
  • Conducting monthly stocktaking and reconciling physical balances with stock card balances to correct variances.
  • Maintaining a clean, well-organized store environment.
  • Properly stacking seed to avoid damage and ensure ease of counting.
  • Preparing daily and monthly stock movement reports for submission to management.
  • Identifying and reporting operational risks, safety hazards, or process gaps to management.
  • Performing any other duties assigned by management from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:  For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
  • A Diploma in sales and marketing, Agriculture, Horticulture or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in stock or inventory management, preferably in agribusiness or seed industry.
  • Working knowledge of computer applications.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a structured, compliance-driven environment.
