About Organisation:

Spiro is a leading provider of electric two-wheelers in Africa. The company’s headquarters are in Benin and has operations in Togo, Uganda, and Rwanda. Spiro offers two models of electric motorbikes and is preparing new versions, always adapted to the African market.

Job Summary: Implement and enforce EHS policies, procedures, and safe work practices. Conduct workplace inspections, hazard identification, and risk assessments (HIRA). Lead toolbox talks, safety inductions, and awareness programs. Investigate incidents and near misses, including RCA and CAPA follow up. Support emergency preparedness, fire safety. and first aid readiness. Monitor environmental compliance (NEMA), waste management, and ESMS activities Ensure safe handling and disposal of batteries, chemicals, oils, and industrial materials. Maintain statutory EHS documentation and support regulatory reporting Oversee machine safety, LOTO, contractor safety, and Permit to Work compliance.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational health & safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Certifications in First Aid, Fire Safety, or Risk Assessment are an added advantage.
  • Minimum 4 years’ EHS experience in manufacturing, automotive assembly, or industrial operations.
  • Hands on experience with Uganda OSH Act and environmental compliance.
  • Strong background in risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety training
