Supervises: Deputy Manager Credit and Operations, Relationship Managers Other Regular Relationships:
Collections Manager, Risk and Compliance Manager and Finance Manager.
Job Summary
Oversees the day-to-day credit and operations department processes at the company.
Main duties and Responsibilities
• Lead the search for prospective clients and develop plans to increase business as per insights from the credit team’s competitor analysis reports.
• Calculate and propose interest rates for all products
• Provide oversight over approval or rejection of loan requests, based on credibility, potential revenues and losses
• Provide guidance on loan applications due diligence processes in liaison with the legal
department.
Job Description
• Review register and checklist of loan applications and their status including all outstanding debt retrieval activity
• Handle disputed debt amounts and negotiate to bring payment within the agreed terms
• Ensure collection targets set by the company are met
• Ensure that all loan/credit transactions are compliant with Company policies
• Review credit reports prepared by relationship managers to ascertain and make decisions on credit positions of various clients.
• In liaison with Human Resource Manager, provide the right environment to ensure all credit staff are fully productive and recommend strategies for performance improvement.
• Conduct performance appraisal for the credit team.
• Any other duties as may be allocated by your supervisor.

Competencies
Education
• Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Banking and Finance or relevant field
Knowledge and Experience
• A minimum of 3 - 5 years’ experience in a leadership position preferably in a financial institution
• A minimum of 7 years’
Experience working in a sales environment preferably in a financial institution
• Experience working in a fastpaced environment
Skills
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word
