The Role:

We are seeking experienced Azure Data Factory Data Engineer to join a critical, long-term project focused on enhancing and optimizing existing data systems within the healthcare domain.

Your primary focus will be designing, improving, and maintaining ETL/ELT workflows that handle sensitive healthcare data.

This is a full-time, long-term remote engagement where you will collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver secure, high-performing data solutions.

What we are looking for:

• 5+ years of professional experience as a Data Engineer
• Practical experience with Azure Data Factory for orchestration and pipeline management, 3+ years
• Strong proficiency in SQL with proven experience optimizing complex queries
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake in production environments
• Solid experience with ETL/ELT processes and data transformation techniques
• Experience working with sensitive healthcare data and understanding of compliance and data protection requirements
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good communication skills in English (written and spoken)
• Ability to work independently in a remote, distributed team
• Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality results remotely
• Located in CET timezone (+/- 3 hours), we are unable to consider applications from candidates in other time zones.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with Talend (especially for understanding or maintaining legacy data processes)
• Familiarity with DBT for modern data transformation workflows
• Experience working in structured product teams with product owners, delivery managers, and architects
• Knowledge of data governance and data modeling best practices
• Experience with performance monitoring and pipeline observability tools

Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory
• Design efficient data acquisition and transformation workflows
• Improve and implement robust data cleaning mechanisms to ensure high data quality and integrity
• Optimize and performance-tune complex SQL queries
• Support and execute data migration and integration into Snowflake from multiple data sources
• Ensure compliance and secure handling of sensitive healthcare data
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, and delivery managers to align technical solutions with business goals
• Monitor and troubleshoot data workflows to ensure reliability and performance
