On behalf of our client in the Manufacturing sector, we are looking for a competent, skilled and experienced Process Operators to work in Namanve

Key Purpose Statement
The primary role of the Process Operator is to operate the process area according to work instructions, execute destructive and non-destructive quality checks, and carry out autonomous maintenance activities. The Process Operator has a primary focus on quality control activities within the production team.
Organisational Reporting
The role reports to the Team Leader – Packaging.
Supervision and Team Leadership
The role does not include direct supervision or team leadership responsibilities.

Key Outputs and Accountabilities
1. Operating and Process Control
- Operate the process area according to work instructions and usage standards.
- Carry out required quality checks in line with quality control and analysis procedures.
- Record waste on appropriate documentation or information systems and review trends to identify and resolve issues promptly.
- Monitor process performance against targets and complete all short interval control documentation.
- Resolve out-of-control situations and respond rapidly to production stoppages.
- Apply problem-solving techniques in line with company procedures.
- Perform housekeeping tasks in line with 5S principles and safe work practices.
- Identify and correct unsafe work practices.
- Carry out flavour and size changeovers according to work instructions.
- Support fellow team members in executing operational tasks.
2. Maintenance of Plant and Equipment
- Conduct deep cleaning, lubrication, and inspection of machines according to schedules and work instructions.
- Perform autonomous maintenance activities in line with maintenance schedules.
- Conduct breakdown maintenance tasks.
- Support the Process Artisan with maintenance activities during shifts.
3. Quality Control and Analysis
- Carry out quality checks and analysis in accordance with quality procedures.
- Record quality check results on relevant documentation or information systems.
- Calibrate quality control equipment according to work instructions and seek support where necessary.
- Conduct trend analysis on quality data to identify issues and improvement opportunities.
- Identify and correct quality issues using approved techniques and escalate unresolved issues appropriately.
- Follow food safety and quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
- Report unsafe conditions identified during operations to contribute to a safe working environment.
4. Communication
- Communicate effectively within the workplace.
- Participate actively in shift meetings and contribute improvement suggestions.
- Use gap lists to record issues and opportunities for improvement.
- Understand team goals and participate in review sessions.
- Use communication tools such as shift handover books to share operational updates.
5. Problem Solving
- Apply situational problem-solving techniques such as 5 Why analysis, quick-fix routines, and One Point Lessons (OPLs).
- Escalate unresolved issues to the Team Leader or Process Artisan where necessary.
- Participate in both situational and systemic problem-solving initiatives.
- Verify that resolved problems have been effectively eliminated.
6. Continuous Improvement
- Use run/control charts and trend analysis to identify process waste and variation.
- Use short stop analysis, Pareto charts, and related tools to identify improvement opportunities.
- Record improvement opportunities on the team gap list and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to implement solutions.
Judgement and Decision Making
- Ability to identify and resolve out-of-control situations in a timely manner.

Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications
Minimum Requirement
- Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) or equivalent with Mathematics and Science subjects.
Added Advantage
- Computer literacy and technical skills.
Experience
- Experience in packaging operations and process control within a manufacturing environment.
