Datacenter People are hiring M&E Project Managers for a Datacenter projects in Europe. Your responsibilities will include managing the design, procurement, and budget while ensuring contractors meet stringent safety, quality, and commissioning milestones.
Please note this position is NOT remote, you would be required on site 5 days per week.
Core Responsibilities
- Owner Representation: Serve as the primary technical point of contact between the client, designers, and primary MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) contractors.
- Design & Buildability Review: Evaluate electrical design specifications, ensuring resilience, energy efficiency, and value engineering align with client requirements.
- Commercial Control: Oversee project budgets, track variations, review bids, and forecast electrical CAPEX.
- Vendor Management: Coordinate specialist electrical packages (e.g., HV/LV distribution, standby generators, UPS, and busbars).
- Quality & Risk Management: Identify critical project risks early, enforce QA/QC processes, and ensure adherence to CDM and H&S regulations.
- Testing & Commissioning: Oversee Integrated Systems Testing (IST), load bank testing, and final handover.
Key Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Specific exposure to datacenter or highly resilient mission-critical environments.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Education: Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Professional accreditations like Chartered Engineer or membership in the APM/PMI are highly desired.
- Soft Skills: Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and client-facing communication skills.
