Job Summary
The Software Developer at Klan Logistics Limited will play a crucial role in the design, development, and maintenance of software applications for the logistics and transportation industry. The ideal candidate will be proficient in modern front-end frameworks such as Vue and React, with expertise in back-end development using the Laravel framework. They will also work extensively with APIs, follow Secure Design Principles, and be well-versed in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). This role involves working in a collaborative environment to build innovative solutions that meet business needs and enhance operational efficiency.

Job Description/Requirements
Roles:
1.Collecting and safeguarding customs documents.
2.Ensure appropriate filing of soft, hard copy and backups of all declaration documents for review later by URA.
3.Share new shipment documents with the office and coordinate with Mombasa agents/ team.
4. Share acknowledgment email upon receipt of documents.
5.Coordinate the process of online appointments, clients and agents.
6.Remind clients/ consignee about possible expiry of appointment.
7. Updating documents list
8.Availing customs documents whenever and wherever needed
9.Promptly receive consignee documents, verify, value consistency and report errors or other issues.
10.Promptly communicate discrepancies / issues to the operations manager, when necessary, discuss with the consignee for correction where necessary.
11.Prepare and send copies of documents to field operations staff as and when need arises.
12.Issue delivery notes to field operators and ensure that they return a copy for filing.
13. Keep up with the changes in customs laws and regulations and customs clearance software.
14. Maintain professional working relationships internal, external customers and colleagues.
15.Make worksheets for shipments once instructed by the manager.
16.Capture customs entries for all regimes.
17.Respond to customs queries and seek for solutions
18.Utilize all customs platforms
19.Prioritize and present action plans.
Qualifications:
1.Education: Diploma of bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply chain management, customs brokerage or a related field.
Skills:
1.Thorough knowledge of Uganda customs laws and regulations.
2.Experience in Asycuda system (customs clearance software)
3.Ability to interpret harmonized Tariff schedule (HS) codes.
4.Accurate data entry and document processing skills
5.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
6.Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and customs authorities.
Experience required:
1. Minimum 5 years and above.
2.Prior experience in customs clearance particularly in Uganda.
3.Familiarity with import/ export procedures including transit and warehousing.
