Simlaw Seeds Company Uganda Limited is a subsidiary of the Kenya Seed Group of Companies. Established in Kenya in 2002 as a limited liability company, Simlaw Seeds’ core business is the sale and marketing of high-quality horticultural seeds across Kenya and the wider Eastern Africa region.
In Uganda, we import, produce, market, and distribute genuine agricultural inputs, including seeds, agricultural chemicals, and farm tools. Our products serve both commercial farmers and subsistence or domestic users, ensuring access to reliable, quality inputs that support sustainable agricultural growth.
Job Summary: The Intern will be responsible for managing all cash transactions from seed shop sales, ensuring accuracy, security, and compliance with company financial procedures. The role safeguards company funds, maintains proper documentation, and supports timely reporting to the Accounts Department.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Preparing vouchers and committal documents in accordance with the laid down rules and regulations.
- Undertaking primary data entry.
- Filing accounting documents.
- Preparing simple financial reports.
- Preparing invoices.
- Ensuring safe custody of accounts documents.
- Perform a limited range of management accounting.
- Undertake Bank reconciliations daily.
- Receive, authenticate, and post cheques/RTGS and banking slips .
- You can also be employed as a cashier in the company.
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
- A Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- CPA 11/ACCA 11 or an equivalent accounting qualification from a recognized institution
- Proficiency in computer applications
- At least 2 years’ experience in cash handling or financial operations
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
- Working knowledge of computer applications.
- High integrity, honesty, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
