About the Job

Wezesha Impact is a FOR-IMPACT organization that works to improve the employment outcomes of youth in Africa. Our programs focus on two overarching themes:

I) Skilling and preparing youth for entrepreneurship and work readiness. II) Supporting youth-led enterprises to start, survive, and thrive, and youth to secure employment.

We work with both female and male youth, between the ages of 15 to 30 years that are navigating the transition into productive and fulfilling work. We specifically target vulnerable, unemployed or underemployed job-seeking youth, as well as potential entrepreneurs and micro entrepreneurs.

Our programs currently serve youth across Central, Eastern, and Northern regions of Uganda, reaching both rural and urban communities.

In this role the Youth Business Fellow will be responsible for to supporting the instructors in the partner Organization to equip youth with entrepreneurship and work readiness skills. He /she will work closely with the Program Officer to ensure successful implementation of the Program.

Main Responsibilities

Delivery program training sessions

  • Co-train with instructor and deliver entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and Job search skills sessions.
  • Ensure delivery of all training sessions as planned in the curriculum or manual for the program using the right methods and approaches.
  • Conduct periodic meetings with instructors to check on progress about set objectives.
  • Conduct one on one and group business mentorship and coaching twice a month.

Youth Empowerment (Mentorship of youth)

  • Provide timely feedback on other program components to ensure timely revision and improvement for better impact.
  • Actively participate in supporting individual youth to start up their businesses.

Coordinate Monitoring and reporting

  • Daily reporting through use of the ODK, share soft and hard copies of Attendance lists and Monthly reporting.
  • Compile an in- institute based story on session delivery, group business activities and Events.
  • Provide periodical updates about the program.
  • Work closely with M&E to administer program survey questionnaires.
  • Any other Duties that may be assigned by  Management.

Qualifications:

  1. Aged between 23-30 years.
  2. Degree in humanities or related field.
  3. Experience: 1 year experience working with youth in local communities or similar position.
  4. Desired skills:
  • Interpersonal skills, communication and negotiation skills, training, and research skills
  • Must Have a smart Phone.

5. Other:

  • Computer skills (MS-WORD, EXCEL, SPSS), Internet use ability.
