JOB DETAILS:

PEAS is a not-for-profit organization focused on expanding access to inclusive, quality secondary education across Sub-Saharan Africa. Their vision is a world where all children enjoy an education that unlocks their full potential. PEAS operates 46 schools in Uganda and Zambia, delivering high-quality, low-cost education in hard-to-reach communities. They work closely with governments to ensure all young people can learn in safe, inclusive environments, supporting over 200,000 young people annually in marginalized communities across Uganda, Zambia, and Ghana.

Role Summary:
The Technical Team Associate is a 6-month role within the Global Technical Team, with the possibility of extension. The Associate will work with leads in Uganda, Zambia, Ghana, and the UK to support PEAS in expanding its impact. Responsibilities include developing content for strategic education projects, supporting the design of new education programs, and assisting with project monitoring and evaluation. The ideal candidate will be a quick learner, highly organized, and adept at working flexibly to support evolving team and organizational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Support tool and content development for strategic projects in collaboration with UK colleagues and program leads in Uganda and Zambia.
    • Develop training resources for teachers and leaders, including training manuals and presentations.
    • Review external studies to maintain an updated library of relevant research.
    • Support the development and adaptation of surveys and forms for data collection.
    • Assist with the analysis of quantitative and qualitative data, including data cleaning and presentation of findings.
    • Support coordination of research and evaluation projects.
    • Assist in coordinating and minuting meetings related to program implementation and MEL.
    • Support PEAS’ research and documentation of potential new countries for operations.
    • Contribute to PEAS’ Thought Leadership work by drafting blogs, abstracts, and presentations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Education, International Development, Economics, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Experience in designing and delivering teacher professional development content (e.g., training modules, workshops, coaching tools).
  • Strong understanding of best practices in teacher development, underpinned by international evidence.
  • Proven ability to synthesize and communicate evidence (international best practice, program evaluations, academic research).
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with proficiency in Excel for analysis and data visualization; experience with STATA or R is an advantage.
  • Professional fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Resilient, solutions-focused, collaborative, entrepreneurial, adaptable, self-starting, proactive, and thorough with strong attention to detail.
