Background

The Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited (UEDCL) is a limited liability company incorporated in Uganda under the Companies Act. UEDCL owns the 33KV and below voltage electricity distribution networks. The company sales and distributes electricity in Uganda as per ERA License issued on 31 December 2024 covering over 135 political districts, operates a modern pole plant at Lugogo, and executes key rural electrification schemes on behalf of the Government of Uganda.

Job Purpose
To configure, support, and optimize respective SAP modules to meet business requirements and ensure seamless operations.
Key Responsibilities

Configure respective SAP modules (FICO, PM, PS, MM, HCM)

Translate business requirements into system solutions

Provide user support and resolve incidents

Conduct testing and system validation
Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resource Management, or a related field, depending on module specialization.

Relevant SAP certification in one or more of the following areas is an added advantage: SAP S/4HANA Finance (FICO), Plant Maintenance (PM), Materials Management (MM), Human Capital Management (HCM).

Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in SAP functional support, ERP business analysis, SAP implementation, or post-go-live application support, with solid hands-on exposure in at least two or more of the stated modules.

Proven hands-on experience in SAP S/4HANA functional configuration, business process support, issue analysis, testing, user support, and continuous improvement across FICO, PM, MM, and HCM modules.

Demonstrated experience supporting SAP go-live, hyper care, stabilization, backlog resolution, and transition to steady-state operations.

Strong understanding of the key business processes covered by the role, including:

FICO: financial postings, reconciliations, period-end support, reporting, controls, and asset accounting.

PM: maintenance order lifecycle, work planning, approvals, and execution support.

MM: procurement, inventory management, goods receipts, stock transfers, material issues, and warehouse support.

HCM: organizational management, personnel administration, payroll/time management coordination, and HR process support.

Experience in requirements gathering, process mapping, fit-gap analysis, solution design validation, user acceptance testing (UAT), defect tracking, training support, and documentation.

Strong capability in incident investigation, root-cause analysis, issue prioritization, and functional troubleshooting in a live ERP environment.

Experience working closely with business process owners, end users, technical teams, vendors, and project teams to resolve issues and improve system adoption.

Ability to support month-end and period-end business processes.

Good understanding of master data governance, controls, audit readiness, user roles, data quality, and process compliance in enterprise systems.

Experience in training users, preparing user guides, conducting refresher sessions, and driving system adoption, as refresher training and user proficiency improvement remain active needs in the current SAP environment.

Familiarity with integration points between SAP and related enterprise systems, reporting tools, workflows, and operational support processes.

Strong analytical, stakeholder-management, communication, and report-writing skills.

High level of integrity, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure in a mission-critical, high-transaction environment.
Added Advantage

Experience supporting a live SAP S/4HANA environment after go-live, including hyper care, defect closure, access remediation, training reinforcement, and stabilization planning.

Experience in a utility, telecom, banking, or other operationally intensive organization where ERP directly supports field operations, procurement, maintenance, HR, and finance.

Exposure to SAP Phase II workstreams, including Payroll, Time Management, interfaces, infrastructure upgrades, SuccessFactors, and Ariba.
