About the Role

The Senior Lead - Data & Connectivity Sales role is responsible for driving ZOI’s revenue growth and expanding its market presence through securing commercial agreements with international telecom operators and major content providers. The position plays a key role in the development and execution of submarine cable system initiatives across national and predominantly international projects. This role operates at a managerial level and oversees a team of sales and client relationship professionals.

Responsibilities

1. Commercial & Sales

  • Develops and executes comprehensive sales strategies for global operators and content providers, including account plans and targets for data capacity, hub services, and co-location.
  • Achieves and exceeds revenue targets by managing client accounts effectively and implementing strategies to migrate clients from competitors.
  • Cultivates and strengthens partnerships with international telecom operators and content providers to promote ZOI’s Global Data solutions.
  • Provides input to Product Development on new product and service development and actively develop new products to boost sales.

2. Customer & Relationship Management

  • Ensures seamless delivery and implementation of customized solutions, maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Builds long-term, trusted relationships with clients by anticipating needs, addressing concerns proactively, and ensuring consistent service quality.

3. Technical & Infrastructure

  • Supports Management and Business Development Infrastructure teams in identifying opportunities for agreements with international companies, particularly related to submarine cables.
  • Develops business cases for submarine cable expansions, cross-connections, and international connectivity enhancements.
  • Executes management-defined plans to provide alternative international routes and scalable transmission facilities supporting internet, voice, roaming, data, and content services.
  • Ensures international network capacity levels are maintained at all times and escalates potential constraints as required.

4. Operational & Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Coordinates with internal stakeholders (IT, Finance, Legal, etc.) to ensure alignment, compliance, and accuracy in contract reviews and execution.
  • Ensures internal processes, agreements, and service delivery are aligned with customer requirements and ZOI’s operational standards.

5. Leadership & People Management

  • Leads, mentors, and develops a team of sales to ensure high performance and consistent delivery against targets.
  • Defines team objectives, monitors performance, and provides coaching and support to drive capability development.
  • Fosters a collaborative, accountable, and customer-focused team culture.
  • Ensures effective resource planning to meet commercial priorities and evolving business needs.

Education / Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in technology, Engineering, Telecommunications, or Business/Management (or a related field).

Experience

  • 8–10 years of relevant experience in the telecommunications industry, with strong exposure to international wholesale, global data solutions, and submarine cable systems.
  • Demonstrated experience managing international client relationships across key regions such as Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
  • Previous experience leading commercial teams and managing complex enterprise or carrier sales engagements is highly desirable.

Knowledge / Technical Skills

  • Proven ability to engage and negotiate at senior management and executive levels, particularly with global telecom operators and major content providers.
  • Advanced strategic negotiation skills, with a strong track record of closing complex, high-value commercial agreements.
  • Deep understanding of wholesale telecom infrastructure, especially international networks, capacity products, and submarine cable ecosystems.
  • A proactive and innovative thinker, capable of thriving in a fast-paced, highly dynamic commercial environment.
