Job Summary: We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive professional to join our finance team as a Senior Accountant at our Kampala office.

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring statutory compliance, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting automation and process improvement initiatives.

The role also involves supervising finance staff and coordinating with internal departments and external stakeholders.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee daily accounting operations
• Ensure timely monthly reconciliations, reporting, and statutory compliance
• Maintain accuracy and integrity of financial records and accounting systems
• Supervise and support junior accounting staff
• Coordinate effectively with management, auditors, and external stakeholders
• Prepare financial reports, schedules, and management summaries
• Review books of accounts and ensure proper documentation
• Support automation initiatives and process improvements within finance operations
• Monitor expense tracking, payments, and cash flow activities
• Assist in budgeting and financial analysis

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• Experience: Relevant experience in accounting and finance roles
• Qualification in Commerce Graduate / ACCA Level / CPA Level / CA Dropout with relevant accounting experience
• Commerce Graduate / ACCA / CPA Level / CA Dropout with strong accounting experience
• Good understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Experience in handling teams and finance operations
• Strong knowledge of statutory compliance and reconciliations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (Tally, ERP systems, etc.)
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Exposure to automation tools and process improvement is an added advantage
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
