Our client in the Automotive Industry is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team. This role involves supporting day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accuracy in accounting processes, and contributing to efficient financial management.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, and general ledger maintenance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations and sales, to provide financial guidance on automotive projects and investments.
- Manage junior accounting staff and contribute to process improvements.
- Prepare and analyse financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support operational efficiency in automotive manufacturing and distribution.
- Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, IFRS standards, and industry-specific financial requirements in Kenya, Uganda, and DRC.
- Conduct internal audits, identify financial risks, and implement controls to mitigate them.
- Prepare management reports and present financial data to senior leadership.
- Handle financial aspects of supply chain management, inventory valuation, and cost accounting specific to the automotive industry.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification or equivalent professional certification.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in the automotive industry, with a proven track record in financial management and reporting.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- High attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for team collaboration.
Language Requirements
- Fluency in Kiswahili, English,
- French (both written and spoken) will be an added advantage.
