Description

The Security and Investigations Officer is responsible for the implementation of Vision Groups safety and security risk
management system as well as investigations throughout Vision Groups areas of operation in the country. This is
done by proactively taking lead in managing Security, safety, fraud and investigations for the company in close
cooperation with the Administration Manager, safety focal points and the Deputy Managing Director/Company
Secretary
Key Result Areas
• Initiate and update policies, procedures and review the physical security risks faced by the
company in order to enforce security policies and procedures
• Manage security and fire Safety control systems
• Conduct security audits and initiate risk control measures
• Ensure Security of people, property and documents of New Vision at any time thus create
confidence among staff to work with ease.
• Communicate to staff all security measures in place that are to be followed and the repercussions
thereof to avoid security breaches.
• Manage the security service providers by carrying out abrupt checks during day, nights and on
weekends
• Maintain strong liaison and working relationships with all state and local law enforcement and
regulatory agencies.
• Investigate fraud and all other cases and prepare clear and comprehensive investigations reports in
a timely manner.
• Maintains records of incidents/crimes in areas of operation in order to effectively analyze and
prepare for future risks in these areas.
• Coordinate multi-functional teams in maintaining vigilance and security of the organization.
Education and Professional Qualifications
• A Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Public Administration, Business Administration or related fields
• Military/police service experience
• Qualification in Security management/Strategic management
Working Experience
5 years’ work experience of which at least 3 years relate to investigations
Communications and working relationships

1. Management:
– Pass on information through regular reports and meetings
– Maintain good line of communication and working relationship with internal stakeholders
2. Staff:
– Respond to all issues raised by staff concerning security and provide general security for staff,
property and the premise.
3. External stakeholders
• Police, for investigations into matters of transgressions against the Company, arraigning offenders to court
and security provision at Head Office and events organized by the Company.
• Private security service providers for guarding services and protecting company property on a contractual
basis
• Other service providers like Fire services companies, CCTV Service providers
• Other law enforcement agencies during lawful duties.

Security:
Effective and reliable workplace security reduces insurance compensation, liabilities and other expenses that the
company must pay to its Stakeholders. It also leads to increased business revenue and a reduction in operational
charges incurred.
Investigation:
• Helps ensure compliance with applicable laws and Company policies.
• Helps managers and directors resolve the underlying issue (s)
• Quick intervention in problem matters will avoid future headaches
• Effective investigation preempts later claims that management and key decision-makers were complicit in the
alleged wrong doing or otherwise turned a blind eye to the problem.
• It also serves as a chronical of when key facts became known to management and key decision-makers
within the organization.
• When an investigation reveals credible evidence of wrong doing, the company can fix the problem.
