Background

The Uganda National Council for Science and Technology (UNCST) is a government agency established in 1990 by an Act of Parliament (Cap 211 as amended) with a mandate to develop and implement strategies for integration of Science and Technology into the national development process. UNCST is inviting applications from suitably qualified Ugandans to fill the positions below based at its Offices on Plot 6 Kimera Road, Ntinda, Kampala:

Responsibilities

• Design scientific and technological projects for implementation by UNCST.
• Facilitate the carrying out of pilot projects and demonstrations of new technologies or innovations.
• Coordinate intellectual property and commercialization advisory services of the UNCST.
• Build synergies with the regional centers of excellence in the development of regional STI technology transfer systems.
• Provide intellectual property and commercialization support to upcoming program portfolios in different STI strategic fields.
• Work closely with STI-based institutions to support appropriate technology  management services and technology transfer systems.
• Maintain an up-to-date inventory and profile of local technologies and innovations with viable commercial value.
