JOB DETAILS:
The primary objective of the Resident Associate (RA) assignment is to provide on-the-ground support for the effective implementation of WYEEFIMA program activities.
The Research Associate will act as the key liaison between the program and local communities, facilitating the creation of jobs, engage in timely data collection, coordinating field-level activities, and ensuring accurate and consistent reporting and supervise the VBAs and deliver last-mile training and support to programme participants and partners at the grassroots level.
Scope of Work:
Assist in planning and executing field activities.
- Collect and submit narrative reports, digitized data, success stories, and stakeholder feedback.
- Monitor project progress and report on field activities.
- Organize and facilitate training, workshops, and stakeholder meetings.
- Ensure compliance with Kilimo Trust’s operational standards.
- Maintain regular communication with the Program Assistant.
- Represent Kilimo Trust in local forums as delegated.
- Conduct refresher training for VBAs and community actors.
- Support mobilization, onboarding, and mentoring of youth and women-led enterprises.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Fisheries, Agriculture, Agribusiness, Rural Development, Economics, Entrepreneurship, or related field.
- At least 1 year of experience in community development or field-based project implementation.
- Experience supervising field agents or community facilitators.
- Strong familiarity with the local context; residency in the target area is a significant advantage.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for engaging diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Proficiency in local languages is an added advantage.
Duty Station
The position will be based in one of the following locations/regions, subject to programmatic needs and operational priorities:
- Southwestern (Kasese, Bundibugyo)
- West Nile and Northern (Arua, Nebbi, Pakwach, Buliisa and Amuru)
- Central (Kyotera, Rakai, Wakiso, and Kampala)
- Eastern (Busia, Namayingo, Malaba, Jinja, Buikwe)
Expected Deliverables
- Monthly Reports: Compile and submit accurate monthly activity reports to the Program Assistant (PA).
- Training Delivery: Organize and conduct training sessions for Village-Based Advisors (VBAs) and program participants.
- Technical Support: Provide ongoing technical backstopping to VBAs to ensure effective field implementation.
- Impact Documentation: Submit case studies and success stories as per agreed timelines.
- Fieldwork Assistance: Support MEAL activities, including data collection and reporting.

Resident Associates are expected to uphold Kilimo Trust and Mastercard Foundation safeguarding policies, including integrity, accountability, ethical data collection, and respect for beneficiaries’ privacy and protection.
