Regional Sales Manager at Mukwano Industries Uganda Limited
REGIONAL SALES MANAGER
Reporting To Sales Head - Domestic, The Successful Candidate Will;
- Regional Oversight & Company Representation
- Overall in charge of the region, taking care of company interests and upholding the company image.
- Maintain P&L responsibility for all the CPs in the region, ensuring cost management to drive profitability and long-term business sustainability.
- Ensure compliance with safety requirements in the work environment.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the SH-Domestic.
- Sales Targeting & Performance
- Set sales performance targets for sales officers and Channel Partners (CPs) based on overall regional targets.
- Analyze product group and SKU-wise sales performance and recommend trade schemes to boost volume sales.
- Develop annual sales plans aligned with available logistics to achieve and exceed regional objectives.
- Market Monitoring & Expansion
- Constantly monitor and evaluate primary and secondary market performance relative to sales support.
- Ensure an optimal route-to-market strategy for efficient product distribution and visibility in secondary markets.
- Conduct regular market visits to review route coverage, assess competitor activity, and identify new sales opportunities.
- Distribution & Channel Management
- Develop and maintain an efficient CP distribution network to ensure widespread availability of company products.
- Generate product sales through CP sales teams to meet or exceed assigned sales targets.
- Have a thorough understanding of CP requirements and enforce standard operational procedures across the region.
- Competitor Analysis
- Analyze competitor activities and recommend strategic responses to retain and grow market share.
- Customer & Team Engagement
- Build strong relationships with key customers across various channels to drive volume sales.
- Develop, coach, and motivate both company and CP sales teams to ensure high performance and value contribution.

Educational Qualifications And Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in a business-related field.
- At least 5 years’ sales experience in a fast-paced FMCG environment, with at least 2 years in management role.
- Strong track record in People Management & / or commercial roles within a consumer goods environment.
- Success in highly demanding sales organization preferably in an FMCG setting.
- Strong track record of sales delivery
Skills & Professional Attributes Required
- High levels of financial and P&L literacy as well as strong sales planning skills.
- Ability to work independently in carrying out assignments to completion.
- Effective Verbal and written communication. *Professional personal presentation.
- Customer service orientation skills.
- Considerable ability to adhere to prescribed routines and practices; and compose effective and accurate correspondence.
- Dealing with non-routine matters, such as special projects, with minimum specific instructions.
- Decision making skills is required.
