JOB DETAILS:

Role Summary and Purpose:

The Quality Control Technician will ensure that Quality and Food Safety Standards are upheld as per Internal and National Standards

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

• Enforce compliance to food safety and Quality standards such as HACCP, GMP, SSOP, ISO 22000 and BAP, Local regulatory guidelines (MAAIF, EU export requirements.
• Ensuring the fish meets specifications, safety requirements and Export Quality by inspecting incoming fish, verifying traceability and monitoring processing steps.
• Ensuring Microbial and Chemical Safety by conducting and coordinating microbiological sampling.
• Ensures high hygiene and housekeeping standards across all processing operations by verify implementation of SSOPs.
• Enforcing proper Documentation and Record Keeping such as HACCP logs, CCP monitoring sheets, Temperature Records, Non-conformance reports.
• Ensuring Staff training and awareness by training new staff on hygiene, GMP and HACCP.

Key Qualifications and Work Experience required for the role:

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Food Science and Technology or Fisheries and Aquaculture.
• At least 2 years of experience working in primary processing facility.

Skills and Ability needed for the Role:

• Competent in MS Office and Computer skills
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and minimal supervision.
• Good communication skills and able to work well with cross functional teams.
• Problem solving and Analytical Thinking
