POSITION DETAILS
Job Purpose
To ensure proper motor vehicle valuation and assessment, review and approval of reports, training, mentoring and coaching of junior officers. Ensure to adhere to policies and procedures of the department and organisation as a whole, and keep up with the new technological trends in the market.
Main Responsibilities of the Job
Review and Approval of Valuation Reports
- Verifying valuation reports for completeness and accuracy before approving.
- Verifying the valued price accordingly to ensure no overstating or understating.
- Maintaining all records being handled at the approval centre for future reference.
- Ensuring timely review and approval of reports.
- Maintaining the updated price lists for reference in approval.
- Re-evaluating disputed initial valuation reports in case of appeal from customers.
- Adhering to quality assurance procedures and work instructions while approving reports.
Training, coaching and mentoring of junior valuation officers
- Being a reference point for junior valuation officers, guiding the team upon consultation.
- Guiding, mentoring and coaching the field officers upon identification of weak areas.
- Ensuring that valuation officers comply with established policies and procedures while submitting reports.
- Carrying out the induction of new staff.
Procedures, policies and work instructions
- Thorough understanding and adherence to department policies, procedures and work instructions.
- Participating in giving input to improvements in the department that can enhance efficiency.
- Ensuring junior officers follow documented processes.
Continuous career development and research
- Carrying out our research on new technologies in the automotive market and applying the same in daily duties.
- Participating in identified training by the company and ensuring full implementation of the gained skills.
- Performing any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Academic and Professional Requirements
- Hold a minimum of a Diploma in Automotive Engineering or its equivalent from a recognised Institution.
- Being a member of the Institute of Professional Engineers is an added advantage.
- Have at least 3 years’ practical experience in automotive valuation.
- Holder of a clean driving license with at least 2 years’ driving experience.

- Good team player with leadership skills.
- Ready to work under minimum supervision.
- Have good report writing/computer skills.
- In-depth knowledge of the vehicle systems and components.
- Self-starter and proactive.
- Excellent communication skills, interpersonal/customer handling skills.
- High flexibility & excellent time management.
