Background

UETCL is a leading electricity transmission company in Uganda. We are committed to providing reliable and efficient electricity transmission services across the country. We are currently seeking to hire a qualified and experienced Projects Accountant - RAP to join our Finance Department.

Responsibilities

The Projects Accountant - RAP will be responsible for managing and overseeing all financial aspects of UETCL's projects, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and reporting standards. Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing and managing project budgets.
• Monitoring project expenditures and financial performance.
• Ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting for all projects.
• Liaising with project managers and other stakeholders on financial matters.
• Maintaining project financial records and documentation.
• Assisting in financial audits and reviews.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in project accounting, preferably in the energy or infrastructure sector.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Reporting Structure

This role reports to the Senior Projects Accountant within the Finance Department.
