As part of our mission to increase our communication efforts and community outreach, we are seeking two motivated interns to support our team remotely.

 

Job Summary: As a 3rd Cohort Policy Analyst Intern at UNB, you will be an integral part of the team, helping to innovate, nurture and transform businesses, build relationships and partnerships with our diverse stakeholders. You will assist in identifying public policies, reviewing and analysing them and supporting our evidence based advocacy programmes. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in evidence based policy research, analysis, review and evaluation, all while contributing to meaningful work that supports Uganda’s business ecosystem.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop policy analysis agenda.
  • Assist with drafting concept notes, work plans and budgets and reports on UNB activities.
  • Support dissemination data and information on UNB activities at advocacy with key audiences.
  • Track and analyse public policies to evaluate their relevance and effectiveness to business ecosystems.
  • Help manage and update UNB policy engagement platforms.
  • Engage with businesses and stakeholders to generate policy issues.
  • Draft policy communication documents to ensure effective advocacy with various stakeholders.
  • Assist with networking and partnership for evidence based advocacy.

  • Policy briefs

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Economics, Business Administration or Management, Commerce, Trade and Law, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Small Business Management, Social Sciences, Community
  • Development, Development Studies, a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with data analytical tools
  • Basic knowledge and skills in the use of Artificial Intelligence in policy research, analysis, review and evaluation.
  • Self-driven and able to work independently, manage tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • A genuine interest in business ecosystem in Uganda.
  • Creative, proactive, and eager to learn new skills.
  • Prior experience in policy analysis is a plus but not required.

  • UNB does not provide any financial support for travel or accommodation during the internship period.
