About Organisation:
Diamond Trust Bank Uganda is a full-fledged commercial Bank with a network of 40 branches and 36 ATM locations in major Ugandan urban centers and still growing. The bank is also an affiliate of the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development (AKFED) which is the economic development arm of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN).
Job Summary: Responsible for the assurance of proper functioning of the bank’s IT network and communication systems which supports the IT strategic objectives and day-to-day business requirements and management of the network and communication systems team.
Responsible for the support and maintenance of all local and wide area network connections, fixed-line voice networks, associated hardware, software and communication infrastructure
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Network Management.
- Network Monitoring: Continuously monitor network performance and reliability, identifying and resolving issues promptly.
- Configuration: Configure and maintain network devices, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
Security and Compliance
- Security Implementation: Implement and enforce network security protocols and measures to protect data integrity.
- Compliance Checks: Ensure network infrastructure complies with relevant regulations and standards.
Documentation
- Maintain Documentation: Document network configurations, processes, and procedures for reference and compliance.
- Update Knowledge Base: Contribute to internal knowledge bases with new findings and solutions.
Project Participation
- Assist in Projects: Participate in network-related projects, such as upgrades, migrations, and new implementations.
- Capacity Planning: Assist in planning network capacity and scalability to meet organizational growth.
Performance Reporting
- Generate Reports: Create regular reports on network performance, usage statistics, and security incidents for management review.
- Analyze Metrics: Review network metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
People
Collaboration
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with IT teams and departments to ensure seamless integration of network services.
- Vendor Management: Collaborate with vendors for network equipment procurement and support.
- Support and Troubleshooting
- Technical Support: Provide technical support for network-related issues to internal users and teams.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve connectivity issues and network failures.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology
- Be proactive and service/results oriented.

- Knowledge of Banking and Business Operations: Well round knowledge of ALL the Bank’s operations and processes and excellent knowledge of Bank policies and procedures.
