Job Description

Akiba Expeditions Africa, in partnership with Trelma a German energy sector consultancy company, is offering an exciting opportunity for Ugandan nationals to work and train as Machinery Operators (Baugeräteführer) in Germany under a sponsored work visa. Positions will be offered as either an apprenticeship or work contract.

As a Mechanic Diesel/Hydraulic (Kraftfahrzeugmechatroniker) you will diagnose and maintain mechanical engineering and hydraulic systems and internal combustion engines, but also vehicles powered by electric motors. You must be familiar with multiple forms of vehicles. From you must be able to use diagnostic systems and identify errors and conduct test drives, whether car, truck or excavator. Training will take place both on active construction sites and in vocational training (provided by employers), with additional instruction in diesel engines, hydraulics, and machine safety.

This program includes work visa sponsorship, German language training, and the chance to gain internationally recognized qualifications.

Requirements

• Ugandan citizenship and National ID (passport will be required for the Visa)
• 2+ years work experience in similar field
• Responsible, motivated, and able to work well in a team
• Understanding of technology relevant to your field of work
• Technical / Vocational training in relevant field
• Completed O-Level or A-Level education
• Commitment to complete German language training to B1 Level
• Good physical health and ability to pass a medical examination
• No prior criminal record (required for visa processing)
• Willingness to live and work in Germany
• Must submit self video (no more than 60 seconds) on why we should select you
