Description

Our client, a leading NGO, is seeking a proactive MEAL Officer to design and implement program plans, tools, and systems. The ideal candidate will ensure effective data collection, analysis, and reporting to track project performance against targets.
Key responsibilities include strengthening data quality and knowledge management, supporting evaluations and learning processes, and producing analytical reports for project management. The MEAL Officer will also ensure accountability, efficiency, and collaboration with key stakeholders to enhance program impact and learning.
Core Responsibilities;
- Compile and submit regular program reports including bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual updates.
- Maintain and regularly update program databases to ensure accurate and reliable data.
- Provide technical support during surveys, studies, and evaluations.
- Support the design and implementation of monitoring and evaluation frameworks, indicators, and tools.
- Track project activities and performance against set targets, providing feedback to improve implementation.
- Participate in data quality assessments and ensure consistency and accuracy in all data collected.
- Analyze key performance indicators and generate reports to support management decision-making.
- Document best practices, lessons learned, success stories, and case studies for knowledge sharing.
- Conduct information-finding and research activities to support program development and learning.
- Build staff capacity in data collection, analysis, documentation, and use of M&E systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Monitoring & Evaluation, Statistics, Economics, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field; a Master’s degree is an added advantage.
- 3–5 years’ proven experience in Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) or similar roles within NGOs, development, or humanitarian projects.
- Strong skills in data collection, analysis, and reporting, with proficiency in software such as Excel, SPSS, STATA, R, or Power BI.
- Demonstrated ability to design and implement M&E frameworks, including logical frameworks, indicators, and evaluation tools.
- Experience using digital data management systems and tools
- Excellent analytical, communication, and report-writing skills, with a strong commitment to learning, accountability, and collaboration.
Ideal candidate should be flexible, willing to travel upcountry periodically and able to work in a multicultural community
