LIFENET INTERNATIONAL UGANDA is recruiting a (Ugandan National) short-term Management Trainer who will be responsible for; supporting management capacity building at partner health facilities through a high-quality management training and mentorship, ensuring the LN standard curriculum is effectively delivered towards improved maternal and child health service delivery and outcomes.
Responsibilities
Planning and budgeting
- Lead the development of the management aspects of the annual cohort-specific workplan and budget for the centralized training workshops and mentorships, in consultation with the Programs and Finance Managers.
- Monitor spending against budget lines for training activities and support budget re-forecasts biannually as needed.
- Prepare and adequately coordinate centralized training workshops ensuring training materials, venue and logistics are procured in a timely manner.
- Develop clear Scopes of Work (SOWs) for all training and mentorship activities.
Training and Mentorship
- Prepare and facilitate centralized management training workshops using adult learning methodologies as per the annual work plan.
- Conduct regular on-site mentorships, follow-ups, and support supervision visits at partner health facilities to ensure practice change and adherence to quality standards as per the workplan.
- Supports partner health facilities to have online e-learning accounts to participate in their online learning and to engage them and follow-up to ensure compliance.
- Identify training gaps and emerging issues and use them to inform the next training and mentorship sessions.
- Provide technical assistance for curriculum reviews and accreditation processes and assist in regularly adapting the curriculum to the local context.
- Represent LifeNet at district, diocese and health facility meetings as needed.
- Identify trends, areas of unmet need, and other issues of concern, and recommend strategies to effect sustainable change at health facilities.
- Contribute to the collection and basic analysis of partner health facility monthly management data and give supportive advice to the health facility leadership where gaps are identified.
- Continuously assess individual health facility capacity-building needs, strengths, and opportunities in line with the LifeNet model.
Reporting and Documentation
- Prepare timely, accurate, and complete monthly, bi-annual and annual reporting in line with LifeNet Uganda (LNU) standards.
- Submit timely back to office and accountability reports at the end of each activity.
- Document and share success stories and case studies to demonstrate program impact.
- Prepare and disseminate annual reports for key stakeholders, including church partners, local government authorities, and other implementing partners.
- Participate in stakeholder meetings at dioceses, district, and national levels as needed.
- Integrate data feedback into the routine mentorship and support supervision visions at each health facility visit.
Partner Development
- Ensure smooth relations with partner health facilities and districts.
- Attend district and diocesan technical meetings as required.
- Build good relations with all the stakeholders and maintain LifeNet’s image.
- Maintain compliance with local church partners and health regulatory authorities.
- Support the program manager and country director to identify and develop opportunities to leverage support and resources that will contribute to, or further the objectives of the program.
Qualifications
- Business administration, Accounting, Human Resources Management, Economics degree (Bachelor or equivalent)
- A postgraduate qualification (Masters or Diploma) in administration management project planning and management or equivalent from a recognized University/Institution is an added advantage.
- An excellent knowledge of English and strong knowledge in computer use (Microsoft, Excel).
- A minimum of 4 years of direct experience in administration or accounting in a healthcare setting is desired, experience in teaching is a plus.
- A minimum of 1 year experience in team supervision.
- Proven skills in leading staff, excellent coordination skills
- Report writing skills.
- Demonstrated understanding of health systems strengthening.
- Strong written and communication skills with high proficiency for accuracy
- Excellent organizational skills
- Emotional maturity, ability to take constructive feedback.
- Ability and willingness to comply with LNU safeguarding requirements.
