Designation: Logistics Supervisor
Office Location: Kampala, Uganda (Warehouse / Yard + border posts)
Position Description: Lead and grow Alliad operations across KLA–MSA–KLA and KLA–Buliisa routes. Ensure on‑time delivery, compliance, cost control, fleet performance, and client growth in coordination with BD/Commercials. and Imports and Customs Officer
Primary Responsibilities Client retention: maintain 100% retention of all existing clients; escalate any risk of client loss immediately to BD/CommercialsNew business generation: identify and present minimum 1 new client prospect to BD/Commercials per quarter; support conversion of ≥ 1 new lane or client every 6 months
Trip planning and scheduling: plan, schedule and coordinate all truck trips across all routes; allocate drivers and trucks by priority order
Monitoring: track trip progress, GPS location, fuel consumption and border crossing timelines in real time; escalate delays or incidents immediately
Documentation and cross-border compliance: maintain trip manifests, cargo documents and border clearance files; ensure full compliance with URA, KRA and TRA requirements including C63 and SD3
Maintenance oversight: ensure both trucks adhere to preventive maintenance schedule within $180/truck/month repair budget
Team Supervison: supervise Logistics Coordinator and all drivers; review and approve driver allowances, expense claims and leave
Financial tracking and reporting: track and report Net Revenue per trip and per client; escalate margin shortfalls; prepare weekly and monthly operational reports for BD and Finance
Lease management for internal and External players: liaise with Clients on lease scheduling, daily rate invoicing ($TBD/day/truck minimum), and lease agreement terms
Position-Specific Requirements Minimum 5 years in freight / cross-border logistics in East Africa — non-negotiable
Proven knowledge of UG–KE border procedures and customs documentation (C63, SD3, TRA forms)
Experience managing 30–40 ton heavy truck fleets operationally
Valid Driving Licence Class C or above (preferred)
Fluent English spoken and written; Swahili an advantage
Willingness to travel regularly to regional border OR goods locations posts (Mombasa, Malaba, Busia, Mutukula, Tilenga , Mbarara etc)
Available and reachable during active trips including evenings and weekends
Physically mobile across yard, warehouse and field environments
Position-Specific Skills Cross-border compliance: C63, SD3, URA/KRA/TRA documentation
Fleet scheduling and route optimisation for long-haul HGV
Net Revenue and margin tracking per trip and per client
Client relationship management and commercial negotiation
GPS fleet monitoring and real-time trip tracking
Driver management: allowances, PSV compliance, logbook review
MS Excel: cost reconciliation, NR reporting, budget vs actual
MDR / Allied Kenya lease management and daily rate invoicing
Incident escalation and crisis decision-making under pressure
Management report writing for BD and Finance
Additional Responsibilities: HSE enforcement, incident escalation, management reporting, process improvement.
