Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The job holder will be responsible for handling all logistics related roles ie accurate customs declaration, follow up all shipments in pipeline from their origin up to entry at central warehouse, proper record keeping for all shipments and ensuring full compliance with customs authorities.
  • Proper record keeping of logistics related documents.
  • Ensure accuracy during customs declaration by aligning on the applicable HS Code and CP code before approving the tax worksheet.
  • Timely submission of customs documentations to the clearing agent.
  • Coordinating custom verification.
  • Ensure 100% compliance to the URA standard operating procedure and customs regulations.
  • Fast tracking of all shipments in pipeline till delivery to the warehouse | intended destination.
  • Preparation of weekly shipment report.
  • Coordinating the tax clearance process until customs exiting providing all necessary information.
  • Updating the tax schedule.
  • Ensuring all stock movements from Receipt at the warehouse and dispatches are duly documented with full RD/Partner details and the same is signed off confirming receipt
  • Inbound of all shipments received in Navision and documenting the receipt.
  • Coordinating all payments of logistics service providers and all refunds made promptly (Container Guarantee refunds).
  • Coordinating container release from ICDs (Shipping line release) and delivery of the empty containers to the named empty container deport as per the Shipping line Guarantee form and Shipping line delivery order.
  • Supporting in Customs related matters and engagements.

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics & supply chain management
  • Proven 3 years work experience as a logistics officer or similar role
  • Knowledge of logistics management systems and procedures
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and operate warehouse equipment
