Role Overview
The IT Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our electronic data processing and information systems. This full-time position is based in Entebbe and involves individual work under the direct supervision of the Managing Director. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess a proactive approach to problem-solving, with strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.

Key Responsibilities
• Manage backup, security, and user help systems.
• Direct daily operations of the department, analyzing workflow, establishing priorities, developing standards, and setting deadlines.
• Meet with department heads, managers, supervisors, vendors, and others to solicit cooperation and resolve problems.
• Review project plans to plan and coordinate project activity.
• Provide users with technical support for computer problems.
• Develop computer information resources, ensuring data security, control, strategic computing, and disaster recovery.

Essential Qualifications
• Education: Post-secondary Diploma in IT or related fields
• Experience: 3-5 years in an IT role
• Skills: Critical Thinking, Judgment and Decision Making, Complex Problem Solving, Time Management, Operations Analysis
• Technical Knowledge: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, analytical software, ERP software, cloud-based data sharing, and backup software
• Language Requirements: Proficient in English

• Consult with users, management, vendors, and technicians to assess computing needs and system requirements.
• Evaluate the organization's technology use and needs and recommend improvements, such as hardware and software upgrades.
