Job Summary: This is a full-time, on-site IT Support Officer role based in Kampala. The IT Support Officer will be responsible for managing and resolving technical issues, maintaining the organization’s IT systems, and ensuring optimal performance of all technology-related functions. Daily activities include monitoring system operations, providing end-user support, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, implementing updates, and maintaining data security standards. The role will also require regular documentation, system reporting, and communication with relevant teams.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Proficiency in IT troubleshooting and support processes, including hardware, software, and network issues
- Basic understanding of system updates, installation, and maintenance
- Knowledge of data security practices and system protection methods
- Strong communication skills to assist end-users and collaborate with teams
- Familiarity with common IT tools, platforms, and software applications
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a dynamic environment
- Relevant educational background in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous
