Description

Every year, the Embassy of Ireland, through the Ireland Fellows Programme – Africa, offers 16 fully funded scholarships to Ugandan and Rwandese nationals for study at master’s level in Ireland. The scholarship seeks to attract dynamic, early to mid-career professionals with leadership potential, to benefit from a prestigious, world-class, quality education contributing to capacity building and expertise.
The aims of the programme are to nurture future leaders, to develop in-country capacity to achieve national SDG goals and to build positive relationships with Ireland.
The Embassy of Ireland in Uganda invites eligible applicants for the academic year 2027/2028.
Eligibility:
- Undergraduate degree obtained in 2015 or later (i.e. within the last 12 years
- Second class upper (i.e. GPA of 3.7 and above)
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience (post-degree).
- No prior overseas study within or outside Africa.

In addition, in memory of an Irish Priest Fr Declan O Toole, who passed away in Karamoja in 2002, the Embassy of Ireland also offers two scholarships to candidates from Karamoja for master’s degree in Uganda.
