Job Summary: The Inventory Officer is responsible for ensuring efficient order fulfilment, maintaining accurate inventory levels, and contributing to a secure and well-maintained store environment in the company.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Order Fulfilment:
- Receive and monitor order notifications electronically tagged for fulfilment.
- Verify order details and accuracy before proceeding.
- Locate, pick, and pack ordered items efficiently using designated search methods.
- Double-check product and quantity before packing and record item serial numbers for tracking.
- Securely pack items and label packages with customer information and order numbers.
- Prepare orders for in-store pickup or delivery based on chosen options.
Inventory Management:
- Verify quantities and product specifications of received items against purchase orders.
- Report discrepancies and input received items into the system, updating stock levels.
- Properly store new items in designated locations within the storage area.
- Inspect returned merchandise for completeness and condition according to company policy
- Document any issues and update inventory based on the returned merchandise’s conditions.
- Process returns for refunds or exchanges as per company guidelines.
Store Maintenance & Security:
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient storage area with clear labelling and accessibility.
- Implement designated systems for storing different gadget categories and accessories.
- Enforce access control measures to restrict unauthorized access to the storage area.
- Conduct regular inventory checks to identify and address discrepancies.
- Ensure the store is locked and secure when unattended.
- Report any suspicious activity or security concerns to a supervisor immediately.
Continuous Improvement:
- Participate in training sessions to stay updated on product knowledge, inventory management techniques, and safety procedures.
- Actively seek feedback to identify areas for improvement in fulfilment processes and storage organisation.
- Share best practices and innovative ideas to contribute to a more efficient and productive team environment.
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, or a related field.
- At least two (2) years of experience in inventory management, stores management or a related field.
Specific Skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Basic computer literacy preferred.
- Knowledge of safe handling practices for electronics and gadgets is a plus.
