JOB DETAILS:

JOB PURPOSE:

The Health Club Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the health club, ensuring that facilities are clean, safe, well-maintained, and operating efficiently. The supervisor provides excellent customer service, oversees staff performance, and ensures that all members and guests have a positive and enjoyable experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operations Management

  • Oversee daily operations of the gym, pool, spa, locker rooms, and related facilities.
  • Ensure all equipment and amenities are in working order and promptly report maintenance needs.
  • Monitor facility cleanliness and hygiene standards in accordance with health and safety guidelines.

Staff Supervision

  • Supervise fitness instructors, pool attendants, cleaners, and receptionists.
  • Prepare duty rosters, approve schedules, and coordinate staff shifts.
  • Train new staff and oversee continuous development and performance.

Customer Service

    • Respond promptly to member inquiries, complaints, and concerns.
    • Maintain a high standard of client care and engagement.
    • Promote club programs, events, and wellness services.

Health & Safety Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety protocols.
  • Conduct routine safety checks and emergency drills.
  • Maintain accident and incident reports and escalate when needed.

Sales and Membership Support

  • Assist with membership sales and renewals.
  • Collaborate with marketing to drive promotions and member engagement.
  • Monitor member attendance, retention, and satisfaction levels.

Administrative Duties

  • Prepare reports on facility usage, staff attendance, and client feedback.
  • Manage inventory of supplies and requisition materials when needed.
  • Track expenses and ensure resource optimization within budget guidelines.

  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to use facility management systems.

  • Must be flexible to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Physically fit to supervise both front and operational areas.
