Position Summary

Pro Freight Forwarders Ltd. is seeking an experienced and results-driven Head of Sales to lead the company's commercial growth strategy. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving revenue growth, developing new business opportunities, strengthening customer relationships, and managing a high-performing sales team. The Head of Sales will play a strategic role in expanding the company's market share within freight forwarding, customs clearance, transportation, warehousing, project logistics, and supply chain solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Strategy & Business Growth

  • Develop and implement the company's sales strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Identify new market opportunities across freight forwarding, customs brokerage, transportation, warehousing, and logistics.
  • Prepare annual sales plans, budgets, and revenue forecasts.
  • Drive sustainable revenue growth and profitability.

Business Development

  • Identify and acquire new corporate clients across manufacturing, construction, energy, telecommunications, agriculture, NGOs, government agencies, FMCGs, and international trade.
  • Develop strategic partnerships with importers, exporters, shipping lines, airlines, and overseas freight agents.
  • Expand Pro Freight Forwarders Ltd.'s regional and international customer base.

Key Account Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers.
  • Ensure high customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Conduct regular client visits and business reviews.
  • Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally.

Sales Team Leadership

  • Recruit, mentor, coach, and supervise the sales team.
  • Set sales targets and monitor performance.
  • Conduct regular sales meetings and performance evaluations.
  • Foster a high-performance and customer-focused culture.

Market Intelligence

  • Monitor competitor activities and pricing.
  • Analyze market trends within freight forwarding and logistics.
  • Recommend new products and service improvements.
  • Identify emerging trade opportunities within East Africa and international markets.

Tender Management

  • Identify public and private sector tender opportunities.
  • Coordinate preparation and submission of bids.
  • Develop competitive pricing strategies.
  • Manage strategic contract negotiations.

CRM & Sales Reporting

  • Manage the company's CRM system.
  • Monitor sales pipeline and conversion rates.
  • Produce weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales reports.
  • Track key performance indicators, including revenue growth, gross profit, customer acquisition, customer retention, tender success rate, and sales conversion.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Operations, Customs Clearance, and Finance to ensure excellent service delivery.
  • Ensure smooth onboarding of new customers.
  • Collaborate in developing customer-focused logistics solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience in sales, business development, or account management within the logistics, freight forwarding, customs clearing, transportation, or supply chain industry.
  • Proven ability to achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Good understanding of freight forwarding operations, international trade, customs procedures, and Incoterms.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and CRM systems.
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
