About the job
About the Company:
The Panda Drum - is a fast-scaling E-commerce DTC brand built around our flagship instrument – the steel tongue drum – with over 100,000 customers worldwide. In just 3 years, we’ve grown to 25–50 team members across Poland, the EU, the US, the Philippines, and China, and surpassed 8 figures in annual revenue, selling primarily in the US market. Our success is driven by world-class marketing, community-driven content, and continuous product innovation.
About the Role:
We’re looking for a hands-on, entrepreneurial Head of Operations (D2C E-commerce) to serve as the CEO’s right hand and second-in-command. This role is central to scaling Panda Drum’s global operations, supply chain, and fulfillment while driving cost efficiency and systemization. The ideal candidate isn’t a corporate “process admin” - you’re a builder-operator: someone who thrives in fast-moving environments, builds systems from the ground up, and treats the business like it’s your own. You’ll oversee operations across supply chain, fulfillment, and vendor management, while also running point on key growth initiatives (Amazon, wholesale, licensing, subscriptions). When the CEO is not in the room, you’re the one running the business.
This is a full-time, remote role with CET overlap.
We are looking for a Head of Operations (D2C E-commerce) specifically with these requirements:
- 5–10+ years in operations, logistics, or supply chain, specifically in DTC/e-commerce brands in the $10M–$50M revenue range.
- Proven track record of building scalable systems (dashboards, SOPs, reporting) - not just maintaining corporate processes.
- Hands-on experience managing international supply chains (China, US, EU), 3PLs, and vendors.
- Strong financial acumen: margins, landed costs, forecasting, and cost optimization.
- Builder mindset: you roll up your sleeves, fix what’s broken, then scale it.
- Comfort with chaos and urgency - making fast decisions, firefighting, and then creating structure.
- Experience leading lean teams (3–15 people) in start-up or scale-up environments.
- Proficiency with tools like Shopify, Amazon, Notion, Slack, n8n, AI tools, and reporting dashboards (Google Sheets/Looker Studio/ERP).
- Excellent communication with internal teams and external partners across geographies.
- Flexibility to travel internationally (China, US, EU) a few times per year.
Your responsibility will include (but not limited to):
- Oversee and optimize supply chain, fulfillment, vendor relationships, and customer support operations.
- Implement scalable systems, dashboards, and SOPs for real-time visibility, efficiency, and growth.
- Manage cost efficiency across gross margins, landed costs, fulfillment expenses, and vendor terms.
- Lead key growth initiatives: Amazon expansion, wholesale channel roll-out, subscription app scaling, and licensing partnerships.
- Build, mentor, and manage a lean, high-performing team (3–5 initially, scaling to 10–15) across Operations, Product, and Sales support.
- Act as the CEO’s second-in-command, ensuring the business runs smoothly and operational fires are minimized.
- Drive performance tracking and reporting through data-driven metrics and dashboards (Google Sheets, Looker Studio, ERP).
- Collaborate closely with marketing, product, and leadership teams to align operational execution with strategic growth goals.
- Ensure high levels of communication and accountability with vendors, 3PLs, and international partners (China, US, EU).
- Maintain flexibility and urgency in responding to critical operational issues, including outside regular hours when necessary.
Growth Opportunities/Perks:
- Transition from Head of Operations to COO within 12–18 months.
- Long-term potential for equity/ownership stake based on results.
- Direct exposure to global growth projects: licensing (Disney, Warner Bros.), subscription apps, wholesale expansion.
- Unlimited book/course budget for professional development.
- Paid international travel (China, US, EU).
- Work alongside top-tier e-commerce consultants and operators from $100M+ brands.
- Flexible, remote-first work culture with focus on results over hours.
