JOB DETAILS:
The Food Technologist will oversee the development, modification, and optimization of food products and processes to ensure safety, legal compliance, and high-quality standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and improve recipes and production processes.
- Conduct sensory evaluations, shelf-life studies, and product stability testing.
- Reformulate existing products to improve taste, nutrition, shelf-life, or cost.
- Plan and conduct lab and pilot plant trials.
- Ensure compliance with food laws, labeling regulations, and safety standards. Support nutritional labeling, ingredient declarations, and product specifications.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and trial reports.
- Investigate customer complaints and non-conformance issues.
- Collaborate with Operations & Commercial teams.
- Train Conducting data reviews.
- Perform any other roles as may be assigned by the line manager.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in food science or a related field or any other related field.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a similar role/ in a food processing or FMCG environment.
- Strong knowledge of food chemistry, microbiology, and processing technologies.
- Familiarity with sensory science and analytical testing.
- Knowledge of Quality & Food Safety management systems (FSSC 22000, ISO 9001), and strong analytical and communication skills.
