JOB DETAILS:

Background:

Reporting to the Carriage & Wagon Inspector, the Carriage & Wagons examiner conducts inspections, maintenance and repairs to wagons and coaches.

Responsibilities:

• Conducts inspections of wagons and coaches at CXR repair centers and marshalling yards.
• Performs scheduled maintenance, unscheduled repairs, and tests carriage & wagons to established set of standards at CXR repair centers.
• Ensures that trains are prepared & adheres to performance and quality standards.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• At least Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) or its equivalent and Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution.
• A Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is an added advantage.
• Skills in Computer applications particularly; Microsoft Access, Excel, Word Processing and PowerPoint.
• Capable of working under pressure.
• Ability to work with people of diverse cultural/ethnic background, gender, and beliefs.
