Location: Flexible across EMEA (ideally based near key data centre markets such as Germany, Italy, Spain or Portugal)

The Opportunity

Our client is a leading player within the specialty materials and technical solutions sector and is investing heavily in one of the fastest-growing infrastructure markets globally: Data Centre Cooling.

Driven by the rapid growth of AI, high-performance computing, increased rack densities and the shift towards advanced liquid cooling technologies, data centre cooling has become a strategic growth area across EMEA. To accelerate market penetration and capitalise on a strong pipeline of opportunities, our client is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to lead commercial growth across the region.

This is a highly visible role focused on building market presence, developing strategic relationships and identifying opportunities across the data centre cooling ecosystem. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the company's position within this rapidly evolving market.

The Role

As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for developing and expanding the EMEA opportunity pipeline across:

  • Direct-to-Chip Liquid Cooling
  • Facility-Side Cooling Systems
  • Immersion Cooling Technologies

Working closely with country sales teams, technical specialists, and external stakeholders, you will drive market development activities and help convert emerging opportunities into long-term commercial growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, manage and continuously develop the EMEA data centre cooling opportunity pipeline.
  • Identify and qualify projects at an early stage, before technology specifications and supplier selections are finalised.
  • Develop relationships across the wider data centre ecosystem, including:
  • Data centre operators, Colocation providers, EPC contractors, Consultants, Cooling OEMs, System integrators, Technology partners
  • Collaborate with regional sales teams to drive customer engagement and opportunity development.
  • Work closely with internal business units and product management teams to align market strategies and technical positioning.
  • Provide market intelligence, customer insights and project qualification support.
  • Develop target account plans and support go-to-market initiatives for the data centre segment.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity and emerging cooling technologies.
  • Act as the central commercial lead for data centre cooling business development activities across EMEA.

About You

You are a commercially driven business development professional who thrives in technical, project-led environments and enjoys building relationships across complex stakeholder networks.

You may already have experience within data centre cooling, but candidates from adjacent sectors such as HVAC, thermal management, industrial fluids, infrastructure, engineering services or specialty chemicals are also encouraged to apply.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in Engineering, Chemistry, Business or a related technical discipline.
  • Proven experience in Business Development, Strategic Sales, Market Development or Key Account Management within a technical B2B environment.
  • Experience selling into project-based markets and managing complex stakeholder ecosystems.
  • Strong relationship-building and networking capabilities.
  • Ability to influence both technical and commercial decision-makers.
  • Experience working with EPCs, OEMs, consultants, contractors, system integrators or large industrial customers would be advantageous.
  • Fluent English is essential; additional European languages are highly desirable.
