JOB PURPOSE
The Business Development Manager will be primarily responsible for driving revenue growth by actively sourcing, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities. This role is heavily results-driven, with a strong emphasis on closing deals and expanding the company’s client base, particularly within commercial and institutional sectors.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Business Acquisition (Core Responsibility)
• Identify, pursue, and secure new cleaning service contracts.
• Develop and execute strategies to generate leads and convert them into paying clients.
• Conduct client visits, presentations, and negotiations to close deals.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with potential and existing clients.
• Consistently meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets.
2. Tendering & Bidding Process
• Actively source tender opportunities from Tuesday and Thursday newspaper publications and other relevant platforms.
• Prepare and submit high-quality prequalification documents, bids, and framework agreements.
• Ensure all tender documents are compliant, complete, and submitted within deadlines.
• Maintain an organized database of all submitted and upcoming bids.
3. Market Intelligence & Opportunity Tracking
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and new opportunities in the cleaning and facilities management industry.
• Advise management on potential areas for expansion and strategic partnerships.
4. Client Relationship Management
• Follow up on submitted bids and proposals.
• Maintain ongoing communication with prospects to increase conversion rates.
• Support onboarding of new clients after deal closure.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIS)
• Number of new clients acquired
• Value of contracts secured
• Conversion rate from leads to closed deals
• Number of bids submitted and success rate
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
• Proven experience in sales, business development, or tendering (preferably in cleaning, facilities management, or service industry).
• Strong understanding of government and private sector procurement processes is an added advantage.

COMPENSATION STRUCTURE
