Subject: Invitation to Bids for the Construction of the Main Entrance Gate at Kakeeka – Mengo Campus

1. INTRODUCTION

Muleesa | Royal University (MRU), in line with its Strategic Plan 2025-2030, invites sealed bids from eligible and competent construction firms for the Remodeling and Construction of the Main Entrance Gate at its Kakeeka Campus located in Mengo.

2. SCOPE OF WORKS

The works shall include, but are not limited to:

• Demolition of the existing temporary structure (where applicable).

• Substructure and foundation work for reinforced concrete pillars.

• Fabrication and installation of a motorized heavy-duty steel gate.

• Construction of a modern Gatehouse (Security Office) with integrated CCTV monitoring space.

• External works including paving (interlocking blocks), drainage, and architectural branding/lighting.

3. ELIGIBILITY & MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

Interested bidders must provide the following:

• Valid Certificate of Incorporation and Trading License (2026).

• Valid Tax Clearance Certificate from the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA).

• Registration with the National Council for Professional Engineers/Contractors (Grade 4 or above).

• Evidence of having completed at least two (2) similar projects in the last three years.

• A Bid Security (10% of the total bid value).

4. KEY DATES

Mandatory Site Visit: 24th – 25th June 2026, at 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM. (Kakeeka Campus Entrance)

Deadline for Submission:
10th July 2026, at 11:00 AM

Bid Opening: 10th July 2026, at 12:00 PM in the University Council Room
