ABOUT LIHS
Luziibangi International Health School (LIHS) is a dynamic, accredited health training institution located in Mityana, Central Uganda. LIHS offers Certificate programmes in Nursing and Midwifery, as well as a growing portfolio of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and short courses designed to strengthen Uganda’s health workforce. Guided by a commitment to excellence, innovation, and equity in health education, LIHS is expanding rapidly and seeks a dedicated Administrator to support its operational and administrative functions.
JOB SUMMARY
The Administrator will serve as the institutional backbone of LIHS, ensuring efficient day-to-day operations, smooth student and staff administration, regulatory compliance, and effective communication between departments. The role demands a high level of professionalism, organisational ability, and discretion.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage student admissions, records, and registration processes in liaison with the Academic Registrar.
• Coordinate scheduling of classes, examinations, and institutional events.
• Maintain and update institutional records, correspondence files, and regulatory documentation.
• Support compliance with UNMC, UHPAB, and TVET Council licensing and regulatory requirements.
• Facilitate communication between students, staff, clinical placement sites, and external stakeholders.
• Assist in the coordination of CPD programmes, workshops, and short courses.
• Support procurement, logistics, and asset management for the institution.
• Prepare reports, minutes of meetings, and institutional correspondence as required.
• Perform any other administrative duties assigned by the Principal or Director.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
• A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Office and Information Management, or a related field.
• At least two (2) years of relevant administrative experience, preferably in an educational or health institution.
• Strong computer literacy including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with student information systems is an advantage.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines under pressure.
• Knowledge of Ugandan education and health sector regulatory bodies (UNMC, UHPAB, TVET) is a distinct advantage.
