Admin & Logistics Assistant*

The position is to be filled as of 15.03.2026, with an initial contract duration of one year. Employment location will be Arua ,Uganda.

 

Welthungerhilfe (WHH), founded in 1962, is one of Germany’s largest non-governmental aid and development agencies. We have worked in Uganda since 1986, in partnership with the Government of Uganda, national and local NGOs, jointly improving the livelihoods of the most vulnerable population in rural areas through interventions that increase their Food and Nutrition Security, improve sustainable access to WASH services, innovative youth skilling and women’s empowerment programs in five regions of Uganda.

Your responsibilities

 

  • Support procurement and logistics operations in line with Welthungerhilfe and donor policies.
  • Prepare RFQs, manage supplier relations, and ensure compliance with procurement procedures.
  • Maintain procurement records, contracts, and supplier databases.
  • Assist with asset management, inventory control, and timely stock replenishment.
  • Oversee vehicle allocation, maintenance, and FleetWave data entry.
  • Organize transport, accommodation, and logistics for visitors and events.
  • Manage office administration, including supplies, utilities, and service contracts.
  • Maintain HR and personnel records, support onboarding, training, and welfare initiatives.
  • Supervise administrative staff and ensure health, safety, and security compliance.
  • Provide regular updates to management and support reporting for logistics and HR functions.

 

Your profile

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Procurement & Logistics, Supply Chain, Purchasing Management, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • Postgraduate qualification in a related field is an added advantage.
  • Minimum four years’ experience in procurement and logistics, preferably with international NGOs.
  • Strong computer skills, especially in MS Excel and use of online systems.
  • Demonstrated integrity, transparency, and adherence to procurement ethics.
  • Good understanding of business practices and contract legalities.
  • Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver timely results.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent in English with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
