Job Description
The Accountant will report directly to the Finance Officer in Kampala and serve as the coordinator of accounts for the Kampala chocolate business.
This includes the following responsibilities:
- Supervise Accounts Assistants and cashiers responsible for Latitude sourcing operations with a specific focus on:
- Petty cash reporting and budgets
- Verification of accountability for cash and mobile money expenses
- Submission and confirmation of inventory reports
- Balancing of buyers and pre-finance for sourcing
- Verification of stocks and dispatches
- Coordinate documentation and payment for all supplies and materials
- Review and confirm monthly report submissions for the office
- Verify and approve sourcing purchase data entry through a traceability program
- Support the implementation of digital farmer payments
- Ensure local tax compliance
- Manage expenses and cost control for each branch
- Verify asset and inventory reports at each branch
- Carry out audits and site visits to confirm inventory and accountability
Experience
- Fluent English
- 3-5 years of experience in accounts department for a Ugandan registered company or entity
- Degree in relevant Account or Finance field, progress completed towards CPA or ACCA
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office and Quickbooks
- Positive attitude, attention to detail and good communication skills
