Expanded Job Description for the Procurement Role (Construction of Multipurpose Storeyed Building - Phase Two)

Responsibilities:

• Project Planning & Coordination: Oversee the entire construction process, ensuring alignment with Jinja College's architectural plans, budget, and timeline.
• Bid Management: Evaluate submitted bids for compliance with technical specifications, financial feasibility, and adherence to the Public Procurement Act.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with contractors, engineers, and school administration to ensure smooth project execution.
• Quality Assurance: Monitor construction progress to guarantee compliance with safety standards, building codes, and environmental regulations.
• Documentation: Maintain records of procurement processes, contracts, and project milestones for transparency and audits.
• Reporting: Provide regular updates to the Head Teacher and Board of Governors on project status, risks, and mitigation strategies.

Requirements:

• • Proven experience in managing large-scale construction projects (preferably educational facilities).
  • Familiarity with Ugandan procurement laws (PPDA Act) and competitive bidding processes.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Registration with relevant professional bodies (e.g., Uganda Institution of Professional Engineers).
