Job Purpose

Deputises the MD and provides technical leadership and operational oversight for all consultancy assignments. Ensures quality assurance, compliance, innovation, efficient project execution, and technical excellence while supporting business development and client relationship management.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Technical and Project Management

  • Provide technical leadership in all TECO consultancy assignments.
  • Prepare BIDs and Terms of Reference for Consultants to be recruited on Projects.
  • Coordinate preparation and review of designs, drawings, specifications, Bills of Quantities, and technical reports.
  • Ensure projects are implemented in line with approved designs, budgets, timelines, and quality standards.
  • Supervise technical teams, consultants, and site activities to ensure efficiency and accountability.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, quality control assessments, and progress reviews.
  • Identify technical risks and recommend mitigation measures.
  • Ensure compliance with professional standards, statutory regulations, health and safety requirements, and environmental standards.

Business Development and Client Management

  • Support business development initiatives through proposal preparation, technical presentations, and market engagement.
  • Participate in tender preparation, technical evaluations, and contract negotiations.
  • Build and maintain positive client and stakeholder relationships.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation, process improvement, and service diversification.

Team Leadership and Institutional Support

  • Mentor and supervise junior staff, graduate trainees, and interns.
  • Support performance management and technical capacity building initiatives.
  • Promote knowledge sharing, innovation, and continuous professional development.
  • Support implementation of quality assurance and project management systems.
  • Deputise the Managing Director where delegated.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
  • Master's Degree in a relevant field is an added advantage.
  • Professional registration with a recognised professional body is strongly preferred.
  • Certification in project management is an added advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years' progressive experience in engineering, architecture, or consultancy services.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary technical projects.
  • Experience in proposal writing, contract management, and client engagement.
  • Proven ability to supervise technical teams and deliver projects within deadlines.
