JOB DETAILS:

Background

OvrtiLabs Tech Systems is assembling a high-performance project team for a major agricultural insurance assignment. We are seeking an experienced Team Leader to head delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide overall strategic and operational leadership across all project workstreams
• Lead stakeholder engagement with UNDP, MAAIF, MoFPED, IRA, AIC, and financial institutions
• Oversee the delivery of all project deliverables within agreed timelines
• Coordinate multidisciplinary team members across insurance, technology, and business development
• Represent OvrtiLabs in all official meetings, workshops, and field activities
• Ensure quality assurance across all technical and institutional outputs
• Lead inception planning, workplan development, and risk management

Minimum Qualifications

• Master's degree in Agriculture Economics, Environmental Science, Actuarial/Climate Risk Management, Data Science, Statistics, or related field

Experience Required

• Minimum 15 years delivering complex multi-stakeholder projects in agriculture, insurance, or climate risk management in Uganda or Sub-Saharan Africa
• Demonstrated hands-on experience implementing and managing the Uganda Agriculture Insurance Scheme (UAIS)
• Proven expertise in insurance coordination within Uganda
• Deep understanding of agricultural insurance ecosystems, including scheme design, implementation, and scaling
• Strong track record managing parallel workstreams and delivering against strict donor timelines
• Solid grounding in climate risk, food security, and rural livelihoods in the Ugandan context
• Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English

Desirable

• Familiarity with FRA Theory of Change and market systems approaches
