Background

Role Context
The Lecturer in Mathematics delivers high-quality instruction in mathematics courses, fostering critical thinking, analytical skills, and quantitative literacy among students. Reports to the Head of Department, Science Education.
Qualifications
- Doctoral Degree or Masters Degree with 3 years teaching experience, particularly in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated competence in teaching undergraduate mathematics courses.
Personal Competencies
- Passion for teaching mathematics and inspiring students to appreciate its beauty, logic, and real-world applications.
- Strong communication skills to explain complex concepts clearly and engagingly to diverse learners.
- Commitment to Christian ethical principles, promoting integrity, diligence, and service in academic pursuits.
- Analytical mindset with proficiency in mathematical software/tools like Python.
- Adaptability to incorporate innovative teaching methods, like technology-enhanced learning and problem-based approaches.
- Dedication to student mentorship, inclusivity, and supporting underrepresented groups in STEM fields.
