JOB DETAILS:
The Women’s Institute of Technology and Innovation (WITI) offers a Diploma in Computer
Science designed to equip students with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in various
areas of computing. As part of the curriculum, students are required to develop strong
foundations in Frontend Development, enabling them to build user-friendly, interactive, and
responsive web applications.
To deliver this module effectively, WITI seeks to hire a qualified and experienced Frontend
Development Instructor to train, mentor, and evaluate diploma students.
Objective of the Assignment
The main objective is to provide high-quality teaching and learning in Frontend Development,
ensuring students acquire the technical competencies, practical experience, and problem-solving
skills needed for the digital economy.
Scope of Work
The instructor will be responsible for:
• Designing and delivering lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions in Frontend
Development (covering HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks such as ReactJS).
• Preparing course outlines, lesson plans, learning materials, and assessments in line with
the Diploma in Computer Science curriculum.
• Guiding students in project-based learning and supervising related assignments.
• Providing mentorship and career guidance in frontend and web development.
• Evaluating and grading students fairly based on academic performance and project
output.
• Ensuring the integration of best practices, including responsive design, accessibility, and
industry trends.
• Participating in departmental meetings, curriculum reviews, and institutional activities as
required.
Expected Deliverables
• Course work plans and teaching schedules.
• Comprehensive lecture notes, tutorials, and coding exercises.
• Mid-semester and end-of-semester examinations with marking guides.
• Project supervision reports.
• A final report summarizing teaching outcomes, challenges, and recommendations.
Duration of Assignment
The teaching assignment will run for one academic semester (approximately 4 months), with the
possibility of renewal based on performance and institutional needs.
Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field (master's
degree is an added advantage).
• Proven expertise in Frontend Development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ReactJS, or similar
frameworks).
• Minimum of 2 years of teaching or professional experience in software/web development.
• Strong communication, facilitation, and mentorship skills.
• Experience in project-based learning and supervising student projects is desirable.
